We are all still learning how to write. The biggest lesson I’ve learned, in all my years of study, is simply how much more there is to learn. The Workshop is a documentation of my learning process, and I hope to be able to share it with you.
The Writer’s Workshop is a home for straightforward writing advice, the tips and tricks that help me the most. The techniques you’ll find here are practical, well researched, and widely used by professionals. But beyond the dry structure, there is also advice on how to find who you are through writing. Your voice, your style. Stories are like humans. The bones are the same, but each is unique.
Too often storytelling is considered a mystical art, too often people think they need an innate talent to perform. In reality, I believe writing is nothing more than a skill, and like all skills, with practice and education you can become an expert. The Workshop is here to help you along that path.
Meet Your Host
I’m Isaac Wilde, a college student studying English and Education at Tufts University.
I’m an author and Ultimate Frisbee youth coach. You’ll find me most often trudging up the side of a mountain or lying awake at 2 a.m with blurry eyes, desperately trying to finish a novel before sleep claims me. My free time is mostly occupied by procrastinating on my schoolwork and playing Dungeons and Dragons.
